The victory of good over evil has been told and retold since time began. Mythology, movies and scriptures all echo the same promise of good defeating evil.
But in today’s world, it doesn’t feel that way. Scroll the headlines and you will think evil is winning on every front. Be it corruption, scams, wars fought for profit not peace, dubious practices labelled as businesses and corporate collapses fueled by greed. You name it and it’s all there.
Maybe it’s not really good versus evil anymore. Maybe it’s just everyone on their own journey. Some are chasing money, some power, some recognition, some just peace and quiet.
Look closely and you see the split.
Evil does not creep quietly anymore but it marches with a megaphone. It is ambition dressed as greed, ego disguised as leadership and attention seeking wrapped up as success.
Good takes a different path. It does not march or shout but it walks quietly through everyday choices. It shows up in the fair business practices, in the leader who keeps promises and in the people who build steadily without chasing applause. And yes good pays its share of community dues without trying to bend the rules or dodge responsibility.
Maybe it was never about one side defeating the other. Maybe it was always about the path you choose to walk as an individual, as a family or as a community.
Good doesn’t need to win the battle but it just needs to stay the course even when evil bends the rules, looks down on it and whispers shortcuts in its ear.
Evil can keep chasing its own hype and find out for itself where it all ends up…
