Who do you put first in an email greeting. The boss, the decision maker, or someone just there for FYI.
I used to overthink it.
– Do I go by seniority…
– Do I put the real decision maker first…
– Do I avoid bruising someone’s ego…
Then I realized no matter what you do, someone will always read into it.
So I stopped stressing and let the alphabet decide.
Dear A to Z. Done!!!
Simple, fair and nobody can argue with the alphabet.
In all honesty, if someone’s whole day is ruined because their name came after Aana in an email, maybe the email isn’t the biggest issue in the room.
